Suburban Water Heater Parts
Suburban's line of state of the art water heaters are the best you can find on the road today. They Include high recovery gas models, and gas-electric and motor aid models, all featuring sizes from four, six, ten, twelve and sixteen-gallons to match the needs of any RV. Often through many years of use, replacement parts are an essentially important resource that can be used to extend the life of your water heater well past the standard recommended usage lifetime.
- In other situations, unexpected circumstances may make replacement parts a necessity. Replacing your Aluminum Anode Rod, which is used to absorb the electrolytic action of the water heater is extremely important. This is because electrolytic action will attack all metal material of the heater and can potentially cause irreparable damage. Fortunately, the Suburban porcelain-lined steel water tank is incredibly durable, and less susceptible to decay.
- Another important replacement Suburban Water Heater part is the two-prong electrode. The Electrode 2 Prong 232258 can be fitted in almost any Suburban Water heater. The electrode functions by sensing the flame of the water heater, and determines whether or not it should be lit. The two-prong design fits securely into the water heater, connected to a porcelain fitting to ensure electrical insulation and heat protection. Installation is quick and easy, just insert the two prongs into the housing. The cost of the replacement part is also low enough to make it an effective alternative to purchasing a new water heater. Do it yourself to avoid a service call.
- In situations where the Pressure Relief valve is corroded internally or externally, which can often happen over years of use, it is important to replace this Suburban Water Heater Part as quickly as possible. When ordering a new Pressure Relief Valve, the three quarter inch NPT works on all models, SW and V series. The Lead free temperature and pressure relief valve is a perfect match to the suburban water heater, and can be easily removed with an allocated tool, taking no more than five to ten minutes to repair.
- Replacing the Pilot burner assembly may be a little more difficult, but at such a low price for replacement parts it is surely a better alternative than buying a new heater. The Pilot Burner Assembly includes a pilot burner, thermocouple, and Pilot tube with fitter. Though the assembly kit does not include mounting screws, the ones on your original Suburban Water Heater should be sufficient to mount the new kit. Be careful not to over tighten the thermocouple because it is possible to damage the relatively fragile unit. In general, installation is quick and easy, and makes a service call unnecessary.
- When looking for Suburban Water Heater Parts another important element to consider is the Suburban Module board, designed as the PID or embedded controller of the water heating system. The module board for the SW6/10 requires the 67288 cover. A new board might be the solution if your water heater requires several recycles, on and off, in order to begin functioning correctly. For most models the module board replacement does not require removal of the water heater, as it is typically placed inside the coach. Once located, the module board is easy to replace and will allow your Suburban water heater to function correctly again.
- In other situations the solution to a malfunctioning Suburban Water heater will require the replacement of the Thermostat gas control. The same thermostat gas control unit can be used on models SW3-P, SW4-P, SW6-P, SW6-PE, SW6PR, and SW6-PER after serial #962802561, and for SW10P after serial #95360121. Each of these Thermostat gas control units feature a three eights inch NPT Inlet and a one quarter inch Loxit Outlet. Once the Suburban Water Heater part is selected, installation is quick and easy.
- For a more aesthetic Suburban Water Heater replacement part, the Suburban Water Heater Switch and Light Plate can be replaced. This product is not only aesthetic however, featuring an On/Off button and reset button for the electric ignition. Installation is a direct bolt-in, quick and easy. The 520764 model fits most gas assemblies, and it runs off of a twelve volt power supply. If functioning correctly, the embedded LED light will illuminate when activated. If you encounter a problem with installation, try reversing the DC leads from the power supply to the switch, ensuring that it is connected as described in the schematics.
