Suburban Water Heater
These models are the best water heaters on the road today- equipped with the essential components for high recovery and ease of use while in a motor home. Best of all they match the requirements of almost any RV.
High-Recovery Water Heaters with 12,000 BTU per hour:
Suburban's line of heaters comse with high recovery gas/electric models as well as different sizes and features to match the requirements of almost any RV. The available sizes are 12 gallon SW12DE, 10 gallon SW10D, 6 gallon SW6DEL gas and electric models, and the 6 gallon SW6P gas only model.
Suburban water heaters feature 12,000 BTUH input and a recovery rate of 10.2 gallons per hour - this is the fastest in the water heater industry. No matter the gallon size you choose, it has the fastest recovery the industry has to offer to provide more gallons of heated water for your pleasure. Faster recovery makes taking a shower much more enjoyable and less chilly. This ultimately makes your RV feel like a real home.
A heat retaining Copolymer insulation jacket is also fitted to keep the heat inside, ensuring it does not escape. Without this type of insulation, your water heater will not offer long-lasting hot water supply. This fast recovery of heat means that you will always have hot water and not experience situations when your water is tepid warm or cold.
Porcelain-Lined Tanks with a Replaceable Anode Rod:
When water is heated, it usually corrodes all metals after a while, but this does not affect porcelain. That's why Suburban RV water heaters are outfitted with a porcelain-lined, steel tank with an anode rod that absorbs the electrolytic action – this is the same process found in residential water heaters. The electrolytic absorbing anode rod is attached to the drain plug for easy replacement and has a large diameter drain and to reduce corrosion.
The fact is, the inside of your water heater is eventually going to corrode and rust. That's why Suburban RV water heaters include an anode rod with each one. When your hot water starts turning brown with rust, you can simply replace this rod.
The single purpose of the anode rod, which is sometimes regarded to as a sacrificial rod, is to stop the tank from rusting. It is made of metals that deteriorate faster that the tank lining, and it eliminates the minerals and ions that cause corrosion out of the water. Each anode rod has a limited lifespan, hence it is made easy for anyone to replace.
With this replaceable anode rod, it is easier to maintain the life of your Suburban tank. With the proper care, the lifespan of your water heater will go further than its three-year warranty, and this will save you the cost of early replacements. This is also the same for the foam insulation, which adds longevity to the water heaters. Also, every Suburban tank is pressure tested during the manufacturing process to ensure its integrity which also means a longer life for the heater.
Easy Set-Up and Installation:
You don’t have to be a world-class plumber to install one of these Suburban RV water heaters. All water heaters are designed for easy installation, operation, and maintenance. Just follow the directions on the installation manual and you’ll find that these are one of the easiest heaters to set up yourself. They are made even more convenient with rough-in slots that are small and less likely to interfere with the RV’s exterior design.
Gas and Electric Direct Spark Ignition:
Suburban RV water heaters are great for any weather condition, with a gas only or gas and electric direct spark ignition (DSI) that features a remote switch, which can be used to ignite the water heater expediently from within your RV. On some models, the Re-ignitor excludes the need to constantly light up your pilot, this nice feature keeps the heat recovery process steady. Installing, operating, and maintaining the heater is very easy and simple.
Most of our models are a combination of gas and electric, except the 6 gallon SW6P that is a gas only model.
The reset button and on/off electric element rocker switches are accessibly positioned behind the removable outer door for ease of use.
