Suburban RV Furnace
The Suburban RV furnaces, gas heating systems, solid state spark ignition systems, water heaters, and efficient DC motors are used widely in the Recreation Vehicles. The capacity of Suburban RV furnaces ranges from 16,000 to 40,000 BTUH and they come in wide variety of sizes, and configuration in order to meet the RV manufacturer needs.
Design of Suburban RV Furnaces: A 12-volt battery or a converter system, is used in the Suburban furnaces which operate on 12-volt DC power. The recreation vehicle which uses propane gas, are designed with suburban forced draft combustion furnaces. It is quite dangerous, to convert the usage of this recreational vehicle, which uses natural gas, unless an approval is provided by the manufacturer of the furnace.
The gas supply pressure has certain requirements:
- Water column voltage requirements should be between 11" and 14".
- Voltage requirement should be between 10.2 volts D.C and 13.5 volts D.C
- Service tools such as Safety glasses, Gas leak detector, Module board tester, Manometer gauge, and Assorted wrenches.
Types of Suburban RV Furnaces:
The various types of Suburban RV furnaces used in recreation vehicle, are listed below:
- Suburban BTU RV gas furnace
- Suburban BTU RV furnace ducted
- Suburban BTU LP RV furnace
- Suburban BTU RV gas furnace Grill NT
- Suburban BTU trailer LP gas camper
Fitting of Suburban RV Furnaces: Adequate return air is essential for the furnace to work properly at the desired temperature. There are four important factors which needs to look upon while installing the suburban RV furnace.
- Selecting a location - A lengthwise center of the coach needs to be located for installation. The performance of the furnaces will improve when there is no interruption of wires, pipes, etc.
- Venting - The suburban RV furnaces effectively discharges heated air into large living spaces. The venting should be appropriate, such that there is a lot of energy saved during the usage. Steel gas manifolds sealed forced – draft combustion, vent assemblies, and chrome vent caps are provided along with the Suburban RV furnaces for easy installation.
- Return Air – A precise breathing appliance is installed to the RV, as this forced air furnace gasps fresh breaths of return air, as the warm air is distributed all over the RV in order to operate optimally.
- Ducting Refer to the Furnace Installation – Two squirrel cages are installed in each furnaces. One brings in fresh air which mixes which propane, and the other forces the air over the heated chamber.
Mounting and Wiring of Suburban RV Furnaces: There is a certain specification in order to mount the furnaces. A specified voltage mentioned on the kit should be strictly followed, as higher voltage can cause a fire hazard. Wiring of the suburban RV furnace should be long and accurately wired, as incorrect wiring may damage the thermostat and could cause personal injury and property damage.
The heating element in the Suburban RV furnace kit arrives without ducting holes, and is predrilled for the specific furnace in the test installation. A cheap heat specialized controller is designed for activating the heating coils, and sending hot air via the existing system of ducting.
Maintenance of Suburban RV Furnaces: It is quite essential for maintaining the suburban RV furnaces. There are two important aspects to be looked upon.
- The combustion air gets reduced, when there is an obstruction in the vent. The incomplete combustion releases carbon monoxide, and dust.
- When there a black soot forming outside the exhaust vent, the operation should be immediately stopped.
The main burner should be cleaned at least once in a year, or just before beginning the heating season. Room air blower wheel, and sail switch are cleaned especially. If not the motor might drag, and a very less amount of air flow is produced to engage the sail switch.
Replacement of Suburban RV Furnaces: The suburban RV furnaces are the most temperamental appliance in your recreational vehicles. A regular inspection of your RV furnace is essential in order to avoid future problems.
Replacement Parts such as:
- Furnace Circuit Boards
- Dinosaur Replacement Ignitor
- Duo-Thermal Limit Switch
- Duo-Thermal Gas Control
- Suburban Limit Switch, Furnace doors
- Furnace Electrical
- Furnace Gas Parts
Furnace thermostats are available in the market, in order to replace the Suburban RV furnace in an effective way. There are also certain ways to repair your suburban RV furnaces yourself. You can flush the RV hot water tank, clean the furnace filter, Dust-proof your home, maintain and inspect RV roof and battery regularly for effective maintenance.
