Adequate Power Output

RV users can probably live comfortably with a RV generator that produces just about two thousand watts and of course with a few extra surge watts. With this amount of power, one will be able to comfortably run a variety of recreation equipment, tools, lights and a couple of other higher-draw gadgets. Notably, at this power, we would expect that the RV generator will be capable of starting an air conditioner of about 13,500 BTUs which is also a common feature in many RVs.

With no doubt, silence is golden. This is very true when you are enjoying your travels in an RV. Noise from the engine cannot only terminate the ambiance for you, a very loud generator is likely to draw complaints from people around you and particularly in cramped RV parks.

However, we think that any RV generator with db ratings in the low-level to mid 50s should be quiet enough or tolerable for many people and applications. Compact Size and Light Weight

Having ample power is great, but the often unreasonable weight that goes with it is never. For an RV enthusiast, having to toil over moving a large generator when setting up and breaking down of a camp site may cause one to prefer watching fireflies to a flat screen.

What is too much then? We believe that an upper limit of about 80 pounds is reasonable enough. Well, this is not exactly light of course, but it is still a manageable weight for many adult males, and yet allows for a big enough RV generator to meet our minimal wattage requirement. The bigger you go, the more weight. While most 3000-6000Watts RV generators have a wheel kit as an optional feature, moving the generator in and out of your truck is an important factor to put in mind. On a lighter note though, consider purchasing two 2000W RV generators that can be connected in parallel to generate up to 3600W. At less than fifty lbs each, this choice is easily movable, and if you do not need to run your AC, you might be able to utilize only one.

Good Fuel Efficiency

When you are on a recreational tour, the last thing you wish to do is consume an excessive amount of time hesitating over your RV generator’s gas tank. Indeed, long run-times at twenty-five to fifty percent maximum load, and general high fuel efficiency is another critical characteristic of a great RV generator.
