RV Roofing
We carry three types of RV Roofs. They are EPDM rubber/superflex, fiberglass and metal/aluminum roofs.
RV Rubber Roof
The newest type of RV roof is rubber. Not only is rubber roof new, it is also increasing in popularity. The rubber used in manufacturing RV roofs is a special kind of rubber called EPDM. Although the texture of EPDM is unique, the look is like the usual household rubber. One of the ways you can easily identify a rubber roof is that it is softer than other types of RV Roofs. More so they are usually white in color. Rubber roofs are quite fine, because they have a better way of regulating the temperature in your RV compared to metal or fiberglass roofs, however, there is a certain precaution that has to be taken when you have a RV with a rubber roof. The precaution is that it needs constant repair. Without constant repair, the texture becomes chalky. This is because it is wearing down without corresponding repairs. EPDM rubber roofs can be found on RVs of varying price ranges.
RV Fiberglass Roof
Fiberglass roofs come in different styles. However they are becoming more rarely used due to the fact that Rubber roofs are becoming increasingly popular. Although it must be noted that fiberglass roof a few advantages over rubber roofs, there are however several reasons why rubber roofs seem to be gaining popularity over fiberglass. One of them is that it is very easy to work with. It makes manufacturing process easier and cost effective. Otherwise, the toughness of Fiberglass is enough to make it rank higher than rubber glass. So tough is a fiberglass roof that it is even tougher when used on RVs than the metal counterpart. However, fiberglass are extremely smooth which may make it difficult to clean. The roof is impossible to climb when it is raining or snowing as it would be very wet and slippery. However, the fiberglass compensates for this defect because of its incredible capacity to bear weight. It can support more weight than rubber roofs moreso, it does not easily wear and tear like rubber roofs.
RV Aluminum/Metal Roof
Before the advent of rubber roofs, metal roofs were more commonly used. Now metal roofs are now second place to rubber roofs. However, metal roofs has its own advantages. One of them is that it is rigid and can support weight. Metal roofs are good if you are moving with a lot of baggage like if you are camping. More so, it is also relatively easy to repair compared to fiberglass. Metal roofs on one hand are very easy to identify. When you see an RV with a metal roof you will make no mistake in identifying it. However, metal roofs has its own disadvantages. One of them is that corrosion and rust easily sets in. This will increase maintenance costs. More so, it is very poor in regulating inner temperatures of the RV. When it is hot outside, the roof becomes hot. Lastly, metal roofs is tougher to repair than rubber roofs.
